Yes, this is not Venus. This body doesn't compete with today mass media image of a woman's body. The body/shell doesn't reflect who we are, how we feel, but yet we are ready to form an opinion of who we think she could be. What do I see? There is peace, there is humility, there is compassion. Acceptance of what we have become.

A new painting
In a society where the outside look is "important", beautiful bodies, are just shells, the inner scars, the hurt souls cannot hide behind a shell, the signs exist, we show them inevitably, we live with it: our acceptance of our human imperfection.
Work in progress
The journey to abstracting the figure is on and here are my latest w.i.p.
Towards abstraction of the figure
I have embarked on a long journey: abstracting the figure. I love the human forms and the poses give me ground to dig into my soul. I am painting with scratches and scribbles which represent the scars we all carry on our bodies as well as the emotional scars in our hearts. The figures are surreal: they are my feelings, my thoughts. The painting below is part of this journey.

Using IPad for life drawing sketch
Every week I take life drawing at the Malvern School of Art, sometimes I use my iPad for sketching, it is still a learning curve for me, as I have not had any training. I am having a great time experimenting and discovering all the tools this software has to offer. Below is an image from my iPad sketch book .
